Frequently Asked Questions

01

Does it influence bee health?

We are currently assessing this. The powder is not toxic to the bees, but it is possible that brood and honey production is a bit less when using bees as flying doctors. If so, the effects will be slight. Entomovectoring is only done for brief periods of time, after which the bees can recover.

02

What biological control agent is used?

The active ingredients in Colonizer and Antagonizer for bees are spores of the fungus fighting fungi, Trichoderma or Gliocladium species.

03

Is this technique suitable for organic growers?

Yes, Metcalf's biological control agents have NASAA accreditation
